Tomhegan Wilderness Resort is a four seasons operation, game sanctuary and wildlife refuge. We have nine log cabins, built back in the very early 1900's and a lodge located within unorganized territory of Maine. Because of our unique location, well within the wilds of Maine, our guests enjoy feeding wild deer, ducks, geese, squirrels, raccoons and even the skunks at their doorstep!Most of the cabins are two bedroom with a double and single bed in each room. We also have a four bedrooms cabin and a two bedrooms with a loft. The cabins rent for a two-day minimum, with the exception of July and August, which are weekly rentals. The four lodge rooms are each with private bath, sleep four to five people and are complete with a gas cookstove and electric refrigerator. The lodge package includes the four rooms in addition with the downstairs commercial kitchen and the great room, with it's custom made furniture and fieldstone fireplace. All the cabins and the lodge, have private baths with showers, gas cook stoves and electric refrigerators. We also provide linens, towels, dishes, soaps and all cooking utensils. Essentially, when you come here, you bring your clothes and food for meals. There are dining facilities within thirty minutes from here. 
We have boat and canoe rentals. We also can make arrangements for guide service for fishing, floatplane service to the marina, to take our guests for scenic one and two hours flights, whitewater rafting trips and moose safaris. Socatean stream and its three miles of navigable waters into it's interior, is where all the moose safaris start and is at our doorstep here at Tomhegan! 
A ten-minute boat ride or twenty minutes canoe paddle, will put you at the mouth of this stream. Here there are nesting eagles, kingfishers, hawks, deer, bear, and moose. Our guests paddling Socatean, have come back reporting as many as fifteen moose sightings in one trip! We have two private beach areas for our guests, hiking trails and some of the best fishing on the lake, is off the end of our docks!
Tomhegan is a relaxing and peaceful vacation. Most of our guests find after they leave here, a piece of them stays behind.
